And the Gemini nominees are!

Posted by Doug on August 29th, 2008

Some great news about this little documentary…we’ve got a nomination for a Gemini award. On October 20th Long Haul, Big Hearts will be recognized as a finalist in the ‘Science, Technology, Nature, Environment or Adventure Documentary’ category. (No time for speeches after they read the category) Keep your fingers crossed for us. Even if we don’t win at least a few more people will have seen the story.

Today, August 29, 2008, is the third anniversary of the day that Hurricane Katrina unleashed her wrath on the Mississippi, Alabama and Louisiana Gulf Coast. As I write this note the residents of the Gulf Coast have started to batten down the hatches for what could be the son of Katrina – Gustav. Gustav has already claimed 67 victims in the Caribbean.

Peter and I had the opportunity to talk a little about the documentary today on Canada AM

Check it out.

And last but not least. Don’t forget to watch the doc on Sunday, that’s this Sunday August 31st on OLN at 9 pm.
